We recommend the following to the entity that will receive the gift of the print shop:
Choose a director or manager for the print shop.
Every worker, especially the leadership, should read the book *Publishing Ministry* by Ellen White. It is an excellent manual to guide the development and functioning of a print shop. Following advice therein will assure success.
Pray regularly and earnestly for the wisdom that only God can provide.
Choose a person to manage finances.
Create a separate bank account. Schedule audits regularly.
Determine the vision and objectives of the print shop and register them in a document. (See DTM Vision and Objectives document for reference.) Reading *Publishing Ministry* is prerequisite to forming vision and objectives.
Choose a name for the print shop that will faithfully reflect the vision and objectives.
Form an editorial committee.
Form a translation committee.
DTM provides a basic kit to start the mini print shop. You are free to customize and add to what we have started.
The director should organize regular training for all the workers, according to the needs.
During the initial period of evaluation (perhaps the first year), send a monthly report to the director of Desert Tree Ministry. This report should contain a summary of activities including the number of tracts/Bible study sets, booklets printed, and the impressions counter on the printer.
